Designed by Takayuki Yamazaki, it debuts as a sibling model to the Cross Spear 01! The car boasts a forward-leaning design with a novel truss structure, and the transparent cockpit parts can be detached. It features a lightweight and compact VZ chassis, perfect for practical use, with Y-spoke red wheels and super hard low-profile tyres. Expected to launch on October 26, 2024

The VZ chassis of this model has a unique design, with cuts and shapes all leading to a large rear wing. In addition, there is a driver model with a helmet inside the cockpit, adding a delicate touch. Tamiya welcomes another Mini 4WD model with a body that is designed by Japanese “hyper-designer” Takayuki Yamazaki, based upon the cutting-edge VZ chassis! You may remember his name from other Mini 4WD bodies he has designed, such as the DCR-01 (MA) (Item 18646), DCR-02 (MA) (Item 18650), Ray Spear (VZ) (Item 18099) and Cross Spear 01 (VZ) (Item 18103). This model employs the same detachable canopy (tinted, light smoke ABS plastic) as the one for the Cross Spear 01 (VZ).

This striking new Mini 4WD car is a close cousin to the Cross Spear 01, also the work of Japanese designer Yamazaki Takayuki. The body features unique trellis motifs linking the cockpit to the long rear wing end plates, plus a removable transparent canopy. The model uses the lightweight, compact VZ chassis. Red Y-spoke wheels are paired with super hard small diameter low profile tires.

Overall, the Tamiya Cross Spear 02 seems to be a well-designed and visually appealing Mini 4WD model that combines style and performance.

About the Model

This is a Mini 4WD model assembly kit. Length: 158mm, width: 98mm, height: 44mm.

The VZ chassis and A parts are molded in Metallic Gray and Light Gray (both are ABS plastic) respectively.

The new stylish body is molded in Sand Yellow (tentative name) ABS plastic and features a detachable canopy section (tinted, light smoke ABS plastic) that allows you to race the car as open- or closed- top.

The eye-catching design – featuring truss structure which connects body center and right/left cowling sections – ensures both rigidity and a lightweight car.

Y-spoke red wheels are paired with black, small diameter super hard low-profile tires.

Low-friction POM 620 plastic bearings (black) give smooth rotation.

Includes a Type 130 motor. The model features a 3.5:1 gear ratio.

Dedicated stickers are also included.

A driver figure is integrated with the cockpit. (The figure can be removed by cutting three sections with side cutters.)

Two R6/AA/UM3 batteries are required (separately available).

A wide range of Grade-Up Parts is available separately to customize your car.
