I am using TAMIYA TT-01D for drifting. The out of the box tie-rod is adjustable but I have to remove the ball end cap using long nose pliers and even I have hard time to adjust tie-rod length precisely. The solution is I install Tamiya (#53662) Turnbuckle Tie-Rod Set For TT01, TGS to replace my the out of the box tie-rod. Good news is I never remove the ball end cap again. I can adjust front wheels toe-in and toe-out by using the supplied wrench very easily and precisely. My TT-01D tie-rod setting is 39mm length which is slightly toe-out and it drifts perfectly on the carpet. I recommend this hop-up option is a must to all TT-01/D owners because it is a cheap upgrade and it changes the car handling characteristic drastically.
I installed this on my HPI E10!
I already had the Atomic steering kit for the E10 installed and was thinking about how to further enhance the performance of the steering. Took a gamble and ordered this kit as I think it can be installed. Turned out to be a good bet and installation was a cinch.
With this kit, I was able to dial in some toe-out for my front wheels and that gave my E10 a bit more turn in and easier to initiate/maintain a drift.
