I have replaced the standard (already very good aluminium) dampers of my Corally RDX with the TRF dampers.
What I already noticed during assembly was the incredible smoothness of motion. These dampers are in a league of their own! Testing the new dampers showed much improved handling characteristics. The chassis is providing so much more grip!
In touring car racing there are two components that make or break your car. One is the diff, and the second are the shocks. Highly recommended to get the best equipment there, and these dampers are the best. Period.
I combined them with X-Ray springs. These springs are specified with numeric values for spring constant. That works so much better when setting up the car than relative terms like "soft", "medium" and "h..
After digging out my TL-01B Baja Champ, I was informed that the dampers should be the first stock part that I upgrade. I was then pointed in the direction of these, and at first was not convinced that such a price would give such a performance upgrade - but I was wrong!
I got the blue alloy collars, and gold shafts, and they look the business on my buggy, they really do! Then, the long-awaited test - they were SO good!! Supposedly for on-road more than anything, I took it over some crazy jumps (mainly through lack of driving ability) and they held up brilliantly!
I would highly recommend these as a must Hop-Up!!!
For any chassis, a set of TRF Dampers is the best HOP-UP you can buy, a bit expensive but the extra performance really shows and it`s worth it! There is so much you can tune, for example different springs may be added, you can use the resin retainer to tension the spring as much as you want, a 2-hole or 3-hole piston can be used and you can use oils with different densities. CAUTION! One thing you must be careful with is screwing in the damper end, to do that you will need to hold it tight with a pliers, put a cloth or somthing to protect the piston rod, if you dent it, that could eventually end up destroying your silicon o-rings wich will give you bad oil leaks.
