Tamiya is proud to introduce the release of a new chassis to the very popular M Chassis range, the M-05 PRO chassis kit. The new chassis layout features new servo, receiver,and ESC positions for improved weight distribution and a lower center of gravity. Further-more, a 3-piece tie-rod steering linkage offers sharp cornering performance. This machine handles extremely well on straights and proves its worth with its excellent high-speed cornering ability. Body shells and numerous Option Parts for M-03 chassis machines canbe loaded onto this machine easily.

This is the best mini so far! Great to build a tamiya kit as allways, and a really pleasing chassis to look at the finnished product. The dynamics of the new chassis are much improved with better weight distribution and virtually zero bump steer. If you are into mini racing, this is the car for you, I've painted my mini cooper body the same as my full size mini cooper and it looks awesome. With a 13 turn hobbywing it has power to spare and good top speed. Thanks to rcmart for great service and speedy delivery

Very nice chassis kit which builds quickly and includes full bearing set, aluminium servo horn for the hi-torque servo saver and alloy 1.5' rear uprights. These differ from the kit standard 2' uprights so you have two tuning options available. Kit allows building of all three available wheelbases according to personal preference. Swapping out the kit shocks is a worthwhile hop up - Tamiya #54000 (M-chassis aluminium damper) an excellent choice, but considerably more expensive than the Super CVA mini shocks (Tamiya #50746) which also work well. As others have said the car does require some driving to "break in" and feel predictable but when it comes on this kit provides a great 2WD driving experience. Add the body of your choice and a selection of slick tyres and you're good to go.

This was one of the most anticipated car since it's suppose to be the next evolution of the great M-03 Chassis. I missed out on the first batch, but got myself one on the second batch. Car has some improvement on ride. However, the handling can be a bit temperamental, it needs to be worn in a bit before it becomes great. The car is well balanced, the steering link is a bit weird, and it's probably one of the first thing you would want to upgrade. Tyres that comes with the kit are the standard stock ones, so I would recommend getting some better tyres when you purchase this car. RC-Mart has a good selection of M-Chassis rims and tyres at super competitve prices. It's also a bit of a dissapointment that Tamiya did not include their alloy front upright with this kit, it's another thing I'd recommend upgrading to. The high torque servo saver scores pretty high on the blink factor and works alright. Kit can be built fairly quickly. High torque servo is recommended. The kit is definately designed for a micro receiver and a Ezrun ESC as they simply just fit nicely in the chassis. You can bring over some of your M-03 upgrades over as they are still sharing some similar parts. In general, it's a nice car to own.

This is a great chassis. It is based on the M-03 chassis but much more improved in layout. The esc and receiver are located on each side and the servo in a cut out in the centre of teh chassis towards the rear. Overall it lowers the center of gravity compared to teh M-03. This means better stability. The servo is connected to the steering yoke with a long metal rod. There is a little slop in thie steering set up, but not too bad. The battery and motor are still located in the same spot as the M-03. The PRO includes metal rear uprights, oil filled shocks and ball bearings. Unfortunately the shocks are made out of plastic. I replaced them with metal ones, because I think the plastic would easily brake. The chassis allows the short, medium and long wheel base by positioning the rear suspension in pre-defined slots. Building the kit was easy, took me about 3-4 hours. After building I checked for tweak and there is a big difference in the weight distribution between the 4 wheels. However, because you can't adjust the suspension (other than installing stoppers on the shock shafts) there is little you can do about this. I installed a racing mini body using the short wheel base layout. First test runs with 23T sports tuned motor and 20T pinion (supplied with the kit). Despite the body tweak the car is surprisingly easy to drive. It was hopelessly under steered, which means you have to come off power early before entering a turn. Changed the front shocks to soft and this makes a big difference, but it is still under steered. However, the car is very predictable, very responsive and very easy to drive. The best part is that it never rolled over which is a big problem with the M-03. The M-05 just sticks to the ground and despite some hisgh speed turns, it never rolled. Overall I think this is a big improvement to the M-03 and I expect that most M-03 racers will change to the M-05, because it performs much better. Next I will test run it with a 13T brushless motor and use part..
