The Schottky diodes can protect your Electronic Speed Controller against voltage spikes which could damage the Speed Controller components thus protecting braking and acceleration response.
They should only be used with a 'forward' only' type speed controller and should NOT be used with a 'reverse' speed controller.
It is important that the polarity is checked when installing:
Solder the red wire to the + POSITIVE (PLUS) and the black wire to the -NEGATIVE (MINUS).
Incorrect installaation will damage the Schottky Diodes.
