Success in 1/8^th racing rests in having the correct tire at the proper time.    The Black Jackets from JConcepts made their debut to success at the Dirt Nitro Challenge and Neobuggy events during the 2012 racing season.    The Black Jackets, constructed from very small square pins, provide additional grip on loose conditions with a light amount of dust and debris across the surface.   The tread spacing near the outside rows are slightly open allowing maximum flexibility to adhere to smooth and slick surfaces providing a reasonable flex contact patch.   The crisp center bar construction provides a wall-like pattern of tread which provides additional forward bite and also resists some high-expansion wear associated with typical small pin tires.

Short Course trucks are very body sensitive.   The proper body style, cut-outs, overall weight and roll characteristics can determine a properly handling vehicle.     The TLR 22 SCT has a very flexible front and rear body mounts which provides several durability advantages but when it comes to performance, having a sturdy base to the body is critical.     JConcepts body mount braces perform just as the name suggests and supports the body mount in high-force situations.

JConcepts introduces Silent Speed spur gears for Team Associated, TLR and Traxxas.  69 and 72 tooth spur gears are now available specifically for AE vehicles and stock class racing.

The heart of any RC vehicle is the transmission, at the top of the transmission lies the spur gear; an integral part of racing performance.  Designed with several key aspects in focus,  JConcepts introduces the Silent Speed line of spur gears for select Team Associated, TLR and Traxxas vehicles. 

Spur gears or straight-cut gears are some of the simplest forms of gears; however they directly influence the ratio, speed and sound of R/C vehicles and they are extremely important.    These gears when meshed together correctly provide the transfer of power from the motor to the transmission and are one of the key elements in the versatility and sound of the vehicle.

Silent Speed spur gears are precision machined making them uniquely concentric over standard or molded gears giving the user a consistent gear mesh allowing a more precise adjustment and more “silence” on the race track.   The detailed machining provides a pattern vented area and secured slipper pad on both sides giving more consistent slipper performance.    The gears are marked for size in 2 different ways so they are identifiable either assembled within a slipper assembly or as a stand-alone part.    Silent Speed spur gears are also branded with the small JC logo for brand identification and authenticity.

Finally, the most recognizable truck on the road is Short Course ready. JConcepts introduces the first Ford F-250 Super Duty body developed specifically for Short Course Racing. Officially licensed by Ford to JConcepts, the F-250 is blended technology, combining powerful elements from the popular JConcepts assortment of SCT bodies, the Super Duty unveils like a winner.

With 3 Short Course ROAR National Championships under their belt, JConcepts knows a thing or 2 about creating the ultimate racer with scale presence. The front grill and headlight treatment have the feel of a that interstate “big rig” while remaining low-profile to slip under the breezy radar. The front hood scoop with cut-lines for 5 individual air-outlets make a functional yet visual impression. Low-profile cab height gives this body a distinct advantage on high speed circuits while the F-250 drop-down windows and black-out decals sharpen up the side window detail.

Full fender flare extensions running over the wheel wells and throughout the side profile toughen the stance while the SCT style openings give the tire clearance necessary to run the vast majority of tires needed on the racing circuit. The top bed area has Hi-Flow inspired recessed regions for air escape removal while the rear bed has a freshly designed escape spoiler region. JConcepts kicked off the 2012 ROAR Off-Road Nationals with a Finnisher 1/10th truck body for the T4.1 racing truck.  The slight cab forward, raked windshield and aggressive stance highlight a performance oriented core.  Front chin spoiler, headlight and grill protect the front-end from unwanted up-drafts during flight while the supplied decals stand-out like an 18 wheeler.

Like the ROAR National Champion Hi-Flow SCT body, the T4.1 body has built-in air escape passages which allow the customer to fine-tune the body for maximum outdoor performance.   The new body includes the high performance gurney spoiler which increases rear grip and balances the handling characteristics of the aggressively styled body.   The Finnisher for the T4.1 is class leading straight out of the package.  1/10^th racing is back,  JConcepts style.

JConcepts has the steering system on the B4.1, T4.1 and SC10 covered with an all new light-weight, aluminum steering bell-crank assembly.  A servo saver-less aluminum steering system is CNC-machined and replaces the stock plastic bell-cranks, the steering bell-cranks by JConcepts come in a blue anodized finish and sport machined chamfered silver edges and engraved JC logos.  The aluminum, light-weight assembly provides a more rigid steering system with increased steering feel and response.    The fit of the new bell-cranks has been improved by the positioning of the bearings to help eliminate binding when assembled.

Securely holding down the battery brace is crucial to the daily activity at any racing or practice circuit.    Quickly performing routine maintenance or battery changes is now easier and more secure than ever with the introduction of the JConcepts thumb / wrench nuts.    Starting with an alignment friendly cone shape that eases the nut into position, the nut has a larger flange which perfectly matches the proportions of the “Monroe” battery brace and a hex shape which allows a user to use either an 11/32” nut driver or the conventional hand-tightening method.     The nut is finished off with a closed-end design which features an etched JC logo for authenticity and brand loyalty.

Just like all JConcepts tires, the Pressure Points are a proven winner. JConcepts driver Ryan Maifield won the 2011 Reedy Truck Race of Champions in the 4×4 class utilizing the Pressure Points in green compound.

The Pressure Points are designed to be driven hard while maintaining the grip necessary to drive at the limit. The edges of the side-walls have been carefully rolled for a smooth transition during corning which limits traction-roll characteristics and allows the driver control during the all important tipping point every driver has experienced.
