Manufacturers Cup Reaches Thousands
In only its second year, the Manufacturers Cup has grown into what many would deem the most significant nitro off-road race in the United States. Smart promotion and passionate organizers helped pack thousands of spectators into the Kootenai County Fairgrounds located in Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho. Over 4,000 race fans filled the grandstands to watch our nation’s fastest 1/8-scale and monster truck racers. The Manufacturers Cup is also a race for our industry and the name couldn’t be more appropriate, as RC’s biggest players joined forces to provide thousands of dollars worth of prizes and raffle giveaways. All of the main events went off under the lights, supercross style. It was an incredible evening for RC racing. Associated’s Ryan Maifield took home a brand new Honda 300EX quad after an impressive win debuting the A-Team’s RC8T in Pro Truggy. In Pro Buggy, Losi’s Mike Truhe worked his way into the lead and showed why he is a real threat to win the Worlds. Truhe took home a brand new Honda CRF 450R for his efforts. In the Monster Truck class Mike Battle won a brand new Honda Pitster dirt bike. And lastly, two sportsman drivers Tom Waggoner and Wade Lamarr earned factory deals with Team Losi and Kyosho for winning Sportsman Truggy and Sportsman Buggy.
