2008 NCT Hank Perry 240 / May 24th, 2008
The days were long and full of action at the 2008 Hank Perry 240 Race in Spokane Washington this last weekend. It was race #2 of 6 in the 08 Northwest Chanpionship Tour with over 250 combined entries in 1/8th and 10th scale Off Road.
A few of us from Tekin got to head up to the race and mingle among the gas and electric crowd and what a group it was. We had nothing but good times and good conversation inbetween putting our driving skills to the test. Driving among some serious competition I was quickly humbled and often caught myself just watching the other drivers man handle the awesome track.
Tekin had a top notch driving crew lined up on the driver stand all weekend (not including me). Tim Weidemann, Dave Gullickson and our own Tekin Prez, Jim “COOL HANDS” Campbell layed out some good lines. Dave Gullickson pulled it in tight with a 2nd place finish in 10th scale Stock Truck and a 2nd place finish in Mod Truck. In Race #1 of the NCT last month, Dave won 1st place in Stock Truck using his FX PRO. Setting the pace as always, Tim Weidemann drove em like he stole em and took the win in both 2WD Mod Buggy using the R1 Pro and Redline632 Motor and TQ/WIN in 4WD Mod Buggy using the FX!
All in all the event was very well put together and as I said earlier a very good time. We enjoyed talking with everyone and making some new friends. I walked away from it excited to go hit the dirt again (after a shower or two)and brush up on my skills….or get some skills period.
