This is a very great Chassis for ta05-ifs. I just bought one and it satisfied me with a light weight and good looking. Everything compatible is fit perfectly except onething that the servo's turnbuckle is stuck with the top plate and you have to put the spacer underneath the top plate. Another thing is the center shaft seem to loose a bit. But It still very good anyway. I love it. So this is a must have for every TA05IFF drivers too.
Another great product from 3racing. The carbon fiber is of good quality, and it's fairly lightweight. The kit works well if you are planning to use the aluminum bulkheads.
Note that the center shaft is much longer than the stock one, so you'll need to rebuild you're center pulleys. Also, is you're planning to use a center one-way, you'll need to shim the center pulleys a bit. The washer that 3 racing provides tightens it too much, and ends up locking the one way.
My only complaint is that it doesn't come with the strap and plastic pieces to keep the battery from sliding like the TT01 carbon conversion. So keep that in mind.
I used this chassis for the standard Tamiya TA-05 IFS. Not sure if it works with the TA-05 IFS V2. The photo shown is incorrect, because it shows the standard TA-05 model. The correct photo is at http://www.3racing.hk/products.php?products_key=3554
The chassis is about 100 grams lighter than the standard chassis. It is made of 2.5mm graphite sheet. The finish is high quality. Clean edges where it is cut or drilled. Most importantly, there is no tweak. It comes complete with hex head screws, but there is no battery holder included. I bought part 3RAC-BB01/BU for the battery.
The chassis uses the original TA-05 IFS bulkheads and suspension parts. Holes are perfectly aligned and all parts fit nicely. The chassis is 118 mm wide (compared to 130mm for the standard chassis), so space is limited, but the battery and motor are placed closer to the centre axis which improves handling. 3Racing supplies a motor mount that looks like the one fitted in the TA-05MS; the spur gear is fitted to a floating shaft with the two bearings located on the left. This means that there is less space for electronics. I had to place my receiver on top of the servo.
When completely assembled the chassis is as stiff as the standard tub chassis. On the track it handles very well. The lower weight makes it handle very sharp and it responds very quickly and accurately to steering inputs. The narrower width means less body-to-surface contact at the same ride height and allows higher cornering speeds. Overall this chassis is a great improvement to the standard TA-05 IFS chassis without the heavy price tag of the TA-05MS kit. Highly recommended for serious racers on a budget.
